

The course offers some challenging climbs towards the second half of the race but is fast and highly runnable which can be a challenge in itself.


The race ends with an iconic crossing over the river on a 100 foot high pedestrian bridge that leads runners straight to the finish. Runners will enjoy multiple water crossings as they run alongside the Big South Fork Cumberland River and adjoining creeks. Runners will be treated to miles of magnificent single track trails and scenic landmarks that include stunning rock overhangs, natural arches, and wonderful waterfalls including Kentucky’s highest waterfall, Yahoo Falls.

The course traverses some of the most beautiful trails in the southeast including the Sheltowee Trace Trail, Kentucky’s longest trail. The actual distance is closer to a 53K coming in close to 33.1 miles. Ultra Adelaide caters to runners, joggers, hikers and walkers alike with generous cut offs (24hrs for the 100k) and 5 distances on offer including 100k, 50k, 34k, 21k and 10k. Ultra Adelaide tackles the Heysen Trail from Kuitpo, North through the hamlets of the Hills, to Mount Lofty and beyond through Brown Hill and Morialta before following the Torrens River down to the finish at the heart of Adelaide. It is a city of beautiful landscapes, amazing heritage buildings and a culture or warmth and embrace like no other city in Australia.Īnd now, we introduce you to an ultra marathon that starts up in the mountains, takes in those beautiful trails and winds its way down into the heart of this magnificent city, finishing by the famous Footbridge over the River Torrens at the river’s edge at Adelaide Riverside Lawns nestled in between the Convention Centre and Adelaide Oval.
